One Point works with OCP to develop Single Sign-on solutions

One Point is working with a specialist management consultancy OCP, Organisational Consulting Partnership Ltd, to develop solutions and industry-specific propositions for biometric ID management. With OCP supplying in-depth experience of business consulting and process (re)engineering, One Point is assisting with shaping the technology component of biometric, specifically match on card, solutions.

The immediate focus is on the biometric-enablement of single sign-on.

One Point has a new Biometrics Practice

One Point has set up a new practice to focus on the expanding area of biometrics and ID management.  The new unit will be One Point Biometrics and will be led by David Lindsay as Practice Director and will begin working on client propositions immediately, with One Point’s clients and with partner organisations.

Dr Lindsay joins One Point from EDS where he was the Applications SME and lead at the EMEA sales centre of excellence.  Before that, he was at Unisys, Andersen and Logica.  He has had considerable exposure to the recent UK ID management procurements.  He is also a ISO 271001 auditor and was the Information Security Manager for the public sector practice of a multi-national technology and services company and will bring this experience to ID management.

One Point launches Open EDU One at K. L. E. Society’s College of BCA

K. L. E. Society’s College of BCA had organised a seminar on Open Source and Embedded Systems at the Digital Vision Laboratory of the Lingaraj College Campus in Belgaum, Karnataka on 28th April 2009.
K. L. E. Society (http://www.klesociety.org) is one of the largest educational societies in Asia with over 205 educational institutions spread throughout and outside India.

On this occasion, Chintan Zaveri, Open Source Consultant at One Point spoke about the need of adopting Open Source within the Indian EDU sector.  The topics covered included:

  • History of Open Source Software (OSS)
  • Myths and benefits of OSS
  • OSS Activity throughout the world
  • OSS Adoption Case studies
  • The EDU scenario in India
  • Why should the students and educators adopt Open Source?
